Artists Health Insurance Resource Center
AHIRC, the Artists Health Insurance Resource Center, is a comprehensive online database of local and national information and resources for artists, in conjunction with The Actors Fund. This resource unites disparate health resources through a system of data-sharing, and disseminates the aggregated content through either through any website in the network. At root, AHIRC is a tool that will allow artists to go to a trusted, familiar site, and find all of the resources that are currently available to help them care for themselves and their families.
In Chicago, LINC is supporting the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs in their ongoing development and maintenance of CAR, The Chicago Artists Resource website, www.chicagoartistsresource.org. This online resource connects artists to services, networks, opportunities, information and resources from local, national and international sources, including, among other things, a searchable health resource directory.
