CREATIVE COMMUNITIES PROJECTS
Training Business Success Coaches: First Peoples Fund’s (FPF) priority is to support Indigenous artists by giving them the tools and support they need to manage small entrepreneurial businesses to achieve economic success and support the cultural bearers of tribal communities. The Training Business Success Coaches program makes access to entrepreneurial success coaches available to artists. The coaches provide training curriculum on micro lending institutions; self-assessment; goal setting; writing a business plan; marketing; and more. The curriculum is specifically geared for the native art market and industry.
Artist in Business Leadership Program: FPF also works to expand demands and markets for Indigenous artists. The Artist in Business Leadership program is a one-year self-directed program that provides artists with technical assistance, access to capital, and new marketing opportunities. It provides fellows independent business experiences supported by individualized training and working capital funds to strengthen their marketing strategies. An FPF officer works with the fellows to design their project; helps them access the appropriate resources, expertise and mentorship; and offers support throughout their fellowship.
